Why do I like flowers so much? Why do we like flowers so much?
They're colorful, and we're very attuned to color. They're ephemeral. They're symbolic.
I don't know though. The attraction doesn't feel rational. It feels like some deep communion between the animal and the vegetable. The link between replication and showiness works somehow beyond the conscious and the nervous. It's part of the deep mathematical structure.
